Muted Objects- أجسام صامتة
Written by Diana Alsindy and translated by Tiba Mohammed.
Till this day, despite some progress made by the Arab women; they are still largely absent in the public arena. I wanted to represent the silent voices of woman by drawing an invisible mouth over her face.
Woman in spots of the world experience the struggle to reach her voice to the world because of the direct social control over her. In some parts of the world, woman don’t have a loud voice, almost, a silent voice. She is just a body with no opinion or voice. She is no more than a tool to implement the demands of the society. We forget that she is a human being with feelings and emotions. Recent events inspire a global dialogue about free speech and its limitations.
So what do you say….Why not make her voice louder, and draw a beautiful mouth that could deliver words that are worth to be heard?
